ABOUT US

Business Overview

Crockett Industries NQ are the leading specialist suppliers of scaffolding, temporary fencing, and staging in the region.

You may know us as MC Scaffolds, Isa temporary Fencing and North West Stage Hire, and that is still us! We are here to stay, just under a different name. Crockett Industries Mount Isa encompasses all three entities under the same title

Our company services the North Queensland region, and into the Northern Territory.

Mission Statement

Our mission statement truly reflects what we are about: WE PROVIDE PEACE OF MIND to clients, employees and our community, by ensuring that everybody gets home safely to their families.

Qualifications and Training

Our local team comprises of Basic, Intermediate and Advanced ticket scaffolders. They also hold a range of qualifications such as Rigging, EWP, Overhead Crane and Forklift. All team members have undergone Manual Handling, Working at Heights and Confined Space training. All these certificates are updated as required.

Its not just about the cost. We strongly believe we offer the most overall value by:

  • Employing locals: Our team are locals. They have rent or pay mortgages in Mount Isa. They have children who go to school here, are in local sporting teams, and spend their money here every week. Their money stays in the local economy, helping Mount Isa to thrive.
  • Safety: Our company prides itself on its excellent safety record.
  • Supporting the community, by helping organizations, sporting teams, schools and fundraisers through donations.

Local Indigenous Employment/School Based Trainees:

  • Over the years we have employed Trainees through Migate (winning Small Host Trainer of the year in 2015)
  • We work closely with YPA (local organization, Young People Ahead) to provide employment opportunities for Indigenous Youth, as part of YPA’s “Second Chance Program”.

Scaffolding Association Queensland

Crockett Industries Mount Isa (previously MC Scaffolds) have been active and current members of the SAQ (Scaffolding Association Queensland) since 2012. This allows us to keep up to date with changing legislation in our high-risk industry, something we believe is very important.

Taking Safety Seriously:

  • Before our team even leaves the workshop to start shift, we conduct a pre-start meeting. At these pre-starts, all team members are required to perform an alco-blow test to ensure their alcohol content is 0%. Random drug tests are also undertaken. Our pre-starts are thorough, with any concerns from the previous day recorded and discussed. All pre-starts are documented and signed off by one of our many supervisors.
  • All team members hold current inductions for the various areas they work.
  • We have a “Buddy” system in place, so any new starters are buddied up with an experienced team members to guide them through the various site processes and procedures.
